Downtime, explained honestly
From none at all to a week of flaking. What decides it, and how to plan around it.
Downtime is the time your skin looks visibly treated: red, flaking, swollen or bruised. It is decided by depth, not by the name of the treatment. A light peel may mean nothing; a deep resurfacing pass may mean a week.
Typical ranges
HydraFacial and most skin boosters: none, or a few hours of redness or small bumps. Peels: two to five days of flaking. Laser resurfacing and RF microneedling: one to three days of redness for lighter settings, a week or more for deeper work. Injectable steps: a few days of possible bruising or swelling.
Planning around an event
Count back ten weeks from the date and tell us. A standard course is three to six visits over six to ten weeks, and the plan can be arranged so the last visit is well clear of the day.
