Acne scars respond best when treated early
Why the first year matters, and what can still be done later.
A scar is collagen the skin laid down in a hurry. In its first months it is still remodelling, which is when resurfacing and microneedling can steer it most. Older scars still respond; they usually need more visits.
Active acne first
Scarring treatments wait until active acne has settled, otherwise new scars form while old ones are treated. A programme usually calms the acne in its first weeks, then turns to the scars.
