Sun protection after treatment
Why it is the one thing that decides whether pigmentation stays away.
Freshly treated skin has fewer defences against the sun for several weeks. Without protection, lifted pigment can return, sometimes darker. This is not a sales line; it is the single most common reason a programme underdelivers.
What to do
A broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, reapplied if you are outside, from the first day after treatment and for as long as you want the result to last. A hat on bright days during the course. Your practitioner will explain the specifics for your skin.
